«What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you.»
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hey there!
You’ve stumbled into my notebook—a treasure trove of my thoughts, life lessons, quirky habits, decoration ideas, beauty hacks, and all kinds of random musings. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find something in my little world that tickles your fancy or makes you smile!
My dad picked my name, and honestly, I think it was the first amazing giftI received!
When I finished school, my chemistry teacher told me, “I’ll give you a passing grade, but only if you promise never to pursue anything related to chemistry—you just don’t get it.” Ironically, I went on to study medicine, where chemistry is the foundation of everything. This time, my chemistry professor said, “I can’t just give you a passing grade—you clearly understand chemistry very well.” I've learned that people will perceive you however they want to perceive you. I no longer waste my time trying to please everyone.
When I was in school, I swore I’d never become a doctor or a teacher. Fast forward: I spent seven years working at a Skin and Venereal Diseases Dispensary and another seven years teaching Hardware Cosmetology at a Medical College. Lesson learned? Never say never.
One day, I was invited to work in London. I decided to take a vacation and go—just for a month. Twenty years later, I’m still living and working here. Now I know for sure: nothing is more permanent than “temporary.”
Skipping the news entirely lets me keep my own perspective on everything going on around the globe.
Every morning I take an ice-cold shower, a habit so ingrained that the weather no longer matters and the day without it seems incomplete. Now I know that any habit can become atomic.
I really love a rich, very strong cup of coffee, but I limit myself to just one in the morning so that I can enjoy and appreciate this amazing drink again and again.
To combine the incompatible! In design, I have a soft spot for eclecticism: vintage meets modern, light flirts with dark, store-bought mingles shamelessly with handmade. It’s all part of the creative chaos I thrive in — a little homage to the muse of inspiration, who, luckily for me, seems to drop by more often than not (probably for the espresso).
I have a deep love for jazz—the soulful sound of the saxophone, the way its melody quietly weaves through my day as I work. And in the evening, there’s nothing lovelier than listening to live jazz in a cozy restaurant— it’s the my perfect way to end the day...
I don’t drink alcohol, don’t keep special glasses for it at home, and never give it as a gift—for one simple reason: as my mother used to say, I refuse to pay to make a fool of myself.
With 30 years of experience in aesthetic cosmetology, I’ve concluded that no cosmetic treatment compares to the rejuvenating power of exercise and a reasonable diet.
In every place I’ve lived, rented or owned, I’ve done repairs—because only in a space I’ve shaped myself (and wearing my trusty house slippers)do I truly feel at home.
