Your attitude, your energy, your health, your prospects, even the well-being of your children are all quietly and deeply shaped by this circle. And if you feel stuck, struggling, or out of tune with your life, it’s time for a little audit. Not of them - OF YOU.
Make a list of these 5 people. Then, for each one, ask yourself a single, uncomfortable question: What is my true attitude toward this person?
Not their attitude toward you— YOURS TOWARD THEM.
Is it genuine? Honest? Or has it become consumerist?
Ask yourself a question:
“I do this for you, so now you owe me”?
Or
“I do this because I want to, with no strings attached”?
If you are brutally honest (and that is the only way), you may notice a pattern. The key is to see it and change it.
Try it: Do something meaningful for each of your five, without expecting anything in return. Do it sincerely.
Be kind. Be honest with this person and with yourself, even if it is an unpleasant situation.
